Bucket Hat
This bucket hat or boy sun hat is really fun to make. Depending on the yarn type, children can wear this hat in any season of the year.
Suggested yarn: cotton or arcylic.
Crochet hook size: crochet hook should be in size suggested in the yarn label. Instructions and sample measurements are for worsted yarn and crochet hook size used 5mm
Head circumference: 16 inches
Row 1: 8 hdc in a magic loop (8 sts).
Row 2: 2 hdc in each stitch around, slip stitch to the very first hdc (16 sts).
Row 3: * hdc in next stitch, 2 hdc in next stitch *, repeat to the end, slip stitch to the very first hdc (24 sts).
Row 4: * hdc in next 2 stitches, 2 hdc in next stitch * repeat to the end, slip stitch to the very first hdc (32 sts).
Row 5: * hdc in next 3 stitches, 2 hdc in next stitch *, repeat to the end, slip stitch to the very first hdc (40 sts).
Row 6: * hdc in next 4 stitches, 2 hdc in next stitch * , repeat to the end, slip stitch to the very first hdc (48 sts).
Row 7: hdc in the BLO (back loop only) in each st around (48 sts).
Row 8-10: hdc in each st around (48 sts).
Row 11-13: hdc in each st around with different yarn color as optional (48 sts)
Brim - row 14: switch back to main color. 2 sc in first st, * sc next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st *, repeat from * around.
Row 15: 2 sc in first st, * sc next 3 sts, 2 sc in next *, repeat from * around.
Row 16-20: sc in each st around. Fasten off on last stitch of last row and weave in end.
Head circumference: 17-18 inches

Row 13-15: hdc in each st around with different yarn color as optional (56 sts)
Row 16: switch back to main color. 2 sc in first st, * sc next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st *, repeat from * around.
Row 17: 2 sc in first st, * sc next 3 sts, 2 sc in next *, repeat from * around.
Row 18-22: sc in each st around. Fasten off on last stitch of last row and weave in end.
